What’s Cool: Cherry Blossoms

Here at CitySights New York, we like things that are cool.  We also like things in New York.  So cool things in New York.. They’re the best.

More importantly, our goal is to show you how cool New York really is, whether it’s while riding on one of our famous bus tours, or while reading about it on our blog.  That is why every Friday we bring you ‘What’s Cool’, where we will tell you, well, you guessed it: something that’s pretty cool in New York City.  Get ready for the weekend because here’s what’s cool:

Springtime might be the most beautiful season of the year with flowers blooming, grass growing green and parks filling with people.  We can finally put our snow shovels (or in the case of this year, our somewhat heavy coats) away and enjoy Mother Nature for what she brings us.  That’s why this week, cherry blossoms are cool.  Not just any cherry blossoms, but the cherry blossoms in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

On Saturday, April 28 and Sunday, April 29, you should make your way out to our neighboring borough to enjoy Sakura Matsuri, popularly known as the Brooklyn Cherry Blossom Festival.  Walk through the Botanic Garden and marvel at the beautifully flowering trees.  If it doesn’t sound that cool to you, check out this video:

You cannot deny; that was pretty cool.  If you can’t make it during one of those dates, visit sometime around the end of April and view the cherry blossoms on your own.

Our Brooklyn Tour will take you all the way around the Brooklyn Botanic Garden where you will be able to take great pictures of the cherry blossoms, so you might just want to hop on that.  Also, is you’re really into the trees, head down to our nation’s capital for one of the most incredible Cherry Blossom Festivals in America going on now!

What do you think? Let us know in the comments how cool you think the Brooklyn Cherry Blossom Festival will be.
