Feel like running up 102 floors tonight? No? Well, people from all around the country plan on racing up the Empire State Building to do just that. Tonight is the 36th annual Empire State Building race where participants race to the top of the world to raise money for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF).
The Empire State Building has over 102 floors & over 1,500 steps. Seems like a lot, but the fastest racers can reach the top in less than 10 minutes. Makes you feel guilty about taking the elevator every day at work.
Running up the Empire State Building is no small accomplishment (It’s nearly a quarter of a mile high!). The MMRF will be providing awards to the fastest male and female racer as well as to the biggest fundraiser.
The observatory deck closes at 7 p.m. and the race begins at 8 in the building’s lobby. So make like King Kong and climb to the top.
