Guess what New York runners… The ING New York City Marathon is back in New York City this weekend! After being cancelled last year due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy, the largest marathon in the world makes its return following a one year hiatus.
For those not familiar with the tradition, the NYC Marathon is a 26.2 mile race run through all five boroughs of New York City. This marathon, along with the Boston and Chicago Marathons, is one of the American legs of the World Marathon Majors. Since the New York City Marathon is one of the most prestige races in the world, our city’s race has been known to attract the best of the best in competitive running from around the globe.
Marathon Sunday is one of the most exciting days of the year in NYC, so be sure to line the streets along this year’s route and cheer on the runners!
