This Saturday we will be heading downtown with one of our CitySights NY double-decker buses to hang out with the businesses of the Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce at their Urban Lawn Party, and you should come, too!
Whether you’re coming to the city for the first time or just want to get to know the local small businesses a little better, the Urban Lawn Party will be the perfect afternoon. There will be food, music, performances, puppies, yoga classes and much more. We will be opening the doors to the top deck to serve as an Instagram station since we are firm believers in “pics or it didn’t happen.” This way you can brag to your internet friends about how awesome of a day you’re having while they sit inside at their computers wondering what they’re doing with their lives.
So come on out this Saturday from 11-5 on Charlton Street between 6th and Varick, bring your cameras, and don’t forget to always use the hashtag #UrbanLawnParty!
Who wants candy, when you can have Aaron Carter as your very own tour guide in NYC? On March 3rd, ten lucky people (plus 1 guest each) will win the adventure of a lifetime and join Aaron as he leads a tour of New York City atop double decker bus!
For a chance to win this incredible ride, all you have to do is tweet a picture that best showcases why #AaronlovesNYC and tag both @AARONCARTER and @CitySightsNY. Aaron will go through the pictures and choose 10 to join him on Aaron’s Party Bus the day of his show at the Gramercy Theatre.
One grand prize winner even gets to party at Aaron’s concert with a pair of VIP passes. To make the night even more memorable, the grand prize winner will also get a copy of the concert’s set list signed by Aaron!
The contest starts today and entries will be accepted until Sunday, February 24. The winners will be contacted shortly thereafter and the winning pictures will be showcased to promote Aaron’s Party Bus.

If you walked outside today and thought to yourself “fall is coming,” you’re not alone. The temperature in Manhattan has fallen into the 70’s today and could get down to the 50’s (What?!) tonight. It’s only a matter of time now until we get to sweatshirt weather. And then scarf weather. And then “I’ll just stay inside” weather….
Wait, what’s that? Temperatures could get up to the 90’s again this weekend? Well then let’s enjoy the unofficial end of summer like we’re meant to; with a long weekend and plenty of fun! Here are some of the Labor Day Weekend activities of which you should take part in NYC:
Great North River Tugboat Race & Competition
On Sunday, the Hudson River will play host to the 20th year of the Labor Day tugboat race. The event begins at 10 a.m. with the parade of tugs at Pier 84.
West Indian Day Parade
The 44th annual West Indian Day Parade is a staple on Labor Day weekend in Brooklyn. Kick off Monday with the J’Ouvert Parade at 3 a.m., followed by the main parade which begins at 11 a.m.
Labor Day Parade
Well, this parade isn’t on Labor Day. New York City holds its annual Labor Day Parade on the second Saturday of September, so if you happen to be in town the following weekend, you’re in luck! The Parade will travel from 44th street to 72nd street on 5th Avenue and begins at 10 a.m. If you plan on attending and are wondering where you should stand for the best view, take a look at our St. Patrick’s Day Parade preview since the two parades travel along the same route. (Don’t go too far up town though, since this parade ends at 72nd and St. Patrick’s ended at 86th)
Double Decker Bus tour
The three day weekend means that you have an extra day to see the sights! Take a look at our extended 72-hour Super New York Tour to take full advantage of Labor Day Weekend
Thank you again to everyone who participated in The Love Bus contest! NYC photographer, Marek, and his date were the lucky couple who attended The Love Bus on Valentine’s Day 2011.
The couple won a free, private tour for two on The Love Bus from CitySights NY after submitting an entry on our Facebook page.
Their customized tour began in Times Square and looped back around at 14th Street. Along the way they saw the incredible skyscrapers, Empire State Building, Macy’s on 34th, the Flatiron Building and more.
Check out Marek’s TwitPics from The Love Bus tour here: 1, 2, 3, 4.
Also, many thanks to our incredible tour guide and bus driver for helping out with the contest!
